Thirty-seven years later it's dated somewhat but it's still one of my favorites. I've also read the novel. Good reading. King was at his best back in the seventies in my opinion. I was a young pup in the '...That takes me back!<br />I was a young pup in the '70's, but one of my older sisters had that very selfsame copy of SALEM'S LOT you're referring to, with the raised cover and the drop of blood.<br />Spooked the hell outta me as a little kid!<br />Of course, when I got a little older I ended up reading it for myself, and I re-read it again a few years back.<br />I agree with your assessment of the book. It's just a fantastic read, and you'll blow through it in a few days, easy.
